PRINCE2 is the most in demand management qualification in the UK today.

PRINCE2™ stands for Projects IN Controlled Environments and is a structured method for effective project management. The PRINCE2™ method is owned by the UK Government, but is provided license free to anyone who wishes to adopt it. PRINCE2™ is now accepted throughout the UK as “best practice” project management.

PRINCE2 is used extensively by UK government departments and local government and is widely recognised and used in the private sector. Its continuing importance was highlighted in a recent Cabinet Office report on major government projects which recommended that: “each project must ensure that a formal approach to project management, such as PRINCE2 is applied”

Many individuals, especially self employed contractors, are finding that a PRINCE2 qualification is now essential simply to be considered for their next post. This is because PRINCE2 exams provide a potential employer with the re-assurance that you will approach the work in a proven manner and they can check your skills against an agreed standard.

There are two levels of qualification. The PRINCE2 Foundation demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the method and terminology. The PRINCE2 Practitioner level demonstrates the ability to practically apply this knowledge to a project.
